Park brochures and fact sheets launched by Minister of Environment and Tourism, Hon Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah
The Strengthening the Protected Area Network (SPAN) Project, with the contribution of various people, has finalised 13 brochures and 22 fact sheets for Namibia`s main protected areas. Materials are available to visitors in various parks and are downloadable on the MET website (www.met.gov.na) to enable visitors to adequately pre-plan their trips, allowing them enough time to undertake their desired activities in the park.
The Park brochures aim to:
- Contribute to the national economy by encouraging visitors to stay longer or come back;
- Foster further support for conservation in Namibia from Namibian citizens and international visitors alike;
- Provide Namibian and international visitors with welcoming and informative information that enhances their enjoyment and appreciation of Namibia’s National Parks; and
- Provide tools for environmental education
The brochures and fact sheets were officially launched by the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Hon Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on July 8, 2009, in Windhoek.
