Communications and Knowledge Management
Within MET, SPAN is developing ways to make good communication takes place between MET field staff, field managers, and senior and HQ managers.
The SPAN project seeks to use different platforms to promote dialogue and wide discussion on park related matters. For this purpose the project is involved in the production and publishing of a park newsletter, organises a talk series and runs an email based discussion forum.
These pages contain the first initiatives, drawn up during the preparation for the project. Check back and you’ll see how they are developing.
SandPaper
PMU staff gather information ranging from the park news and visitors’ experiences to produce this quarterly magazine. Each edition of this magazine also contains a profile of a warden or other park staff, and a park profile.
ParkNet
ParkNet is an email based discussion forum where signed up members can engage in discussion over matters related to park management in Namibia.
ParkTalk
ParkTalk is a bi monthly talk series where natural resource stakeholders and interested people can share information and debate on a range of park related issues. The series usually starts with a presentation from a selected individual or group on a selected topic which is followed by a discussion session.
